Cinema Scent On BBC Radio 4 Film Programme: The Silence Of The Lambs (dir. Jonathan Demme; 1991)

I've long considered The Silence Of The Lambs to be one of the most pungent films I've ever seen, which is why I was so excited to discuss it on Francine Stock's Film Programme on BBC Radio 4. To find out what I had to say about the late Jonathan Demme's masterpiece, pour yourself a glass of Chianti and tune in today at 4:00 pm (UK time); you can click here to listen live.

As before, I'll post a link to the podcast here as soon as it becomes available. Here's a link to the programme; my segment is at around the 20 minute mark.

  1. Hello! Just heard you on The Film Programme - I was only listening with one ear when I heard the word perfume so obviously I paid attention. So interesting to hear your views on Clarice's L'Air du Temps, you are spot on. Hadn't heard your previous contributions, so am pleased to be able to catch up on your posts. I'm looking forward to my nice glass of Chianti later this evening. By the way, you have a lovely voice.

    1. Jillie, it's so kind of you to write straight after the broadcast, thank you. And thanks also for the compliment.

Yes, I always thought L'Air Du Temps was a curious choice, but I guess it works precisely because it's wrong.
